Bibliophile is defined as "a person who collects or has a great love of books." Now, as you may know, since I run a blog dedicated to books, I am a bibliophile. And, in my desire to help other bibliophiles out there during this holiday season, I've created a list of six gifts to buy the bibliophile in your life. Now, you may be a bibliophile yourself. In that case, share this post on every social media site you have and blast your family members and loved ones with not so subtle hints that THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS. Then, make sure you act surprised when you open your gifts.
1) Books! (see my post on Beautiful Book Editions)
Shocking, right? Who would have ever thought a book lover would want more books for Christmas? But you can spice up your book gift giving by buying extra beautiful editions of their favorite books! Follow the link above to see five of my absolute favorite beautiful book sets.
Out of Print is one of my favorite places to find clothes. Why? Because I’m obsessed with books and I want everyone to know it. The best way to let everyone know it is to wear my favorite book covers on my body. I own seven Out of Print shirts and I have no intention of stopping my collection there. In my ideal world, I’d own every single Out of Print shirt and they would be the only shirts I’d ever wear. Then, once I buy all of the shirts, I’ll start in on buying the socks, tank tops, pencil cases, sweatshirts, and tote bags. The Out of Print website is a bibliophile’s heaven.
My husband just bought me this 24” x 36” Great Gatsby Litograph poster for my birthday and I’m in love. The book is printed on the poster from the first word to ‘The End’. If I wanted, I could stand in front of it and read the entire book. Plus, it looks great on the wall! What bibliophile doesn’t want book-themed art? None, I tell you! And they have t-shirts, tote bags, and tattoos! You can have book art on your walls and your body. Sounds like a dream come true.
These handmade word pendants are the cutest things. There are hundreds to choose from and I have yet to find a single one I don’t like. You can choose from famous literary quotes or snarky sayings like, “I am silently correcting your grammar.” Better yet? Each one is only $15! Not a bad price at all for you or your cherished loved ones.
“OwlCrate is a subscription service that sends you magical monthly boxes tailored to a chosen theme. Each OwlCrate will contain one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish treats to help you get your nerd on.”
This is like NatureBox, but for your brain! The boxes start at $29.99, but can you really put a price on pure happiness? I didn’t think so. Previous boxes contained Everything that Makes You by Moriah McStay, Fangirling is so Vogue totebag, scented soy candle, The Fault in Our Stars necklace, a promotional bookmark, sticker, and signed bookplate.
This Etsy shop has a lot of things for the HP fan in your life, including this little Accio Tea mug, which I’m in love with. I have always been more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker, so this adorable mug speaks to my soul.
I hope this list helps you out this Christmas season, whether buying or receiving. Let me know what you think and what your favorite bookish gifts are in the comments!
